DAY 9 March 30, 2008- Rome

Just a comment: all street musicians in Italy play "my way" by sinatra... all of them. every single one i saw... no joke.

We had a sit down breakfast that cost an arm and a leg and ventured to the Pantheon. A ton of the roads were closed... i wonder if every sunday you can venture on the main highway streets of Rome and get perfect pictures of the Coliseum. We saw the Pantheon and i got molested by a gladiator... or really i molested him.. He started declaring his love for me and that he will win all his battles for me and then grabbed my hand and pulled it to his armoured covered chest. Amy was laughing histerically. I was blushing... and quickly ran away, while he blew me kisses. We wandered through a few sunday markets and a food festival of some sort. We saw the castle by Vatican City and got sun burnt again. We climbed to the top of the castle and saw the whole city of Rome. this castle is connected to the vatican by a wall/tunnel that the pope still takes as an escape route to get baracaded into the castle if he needs to. We had a big lunch and walked to the river. Walked by the river to the Baths of Carcione, took the long way around, because once again we had no idea where we were. there we saw such amazing archaeology again and laid on the grass for hours. Two cops on horses wandering around inside the baths... thats gotta be the best job. riding around inside a arch site while chatting with your buddy for hours. and then there were nuns... cops on horses and nuns and archaeology. and i got them all in the same picture. we relaxed a bunch and then wandered to the coliseum again. we just couldnt get enough. we walked through the empty streets and took lottttttts of pictures. Went to the spanish steps, ate our last gelato and saw Jason on the steps!!!! it was fate. and i wasnt paying attention and amy said "will you focus?!?! he has a baby!!!" he was holding a kid... i swear the kid must be his nephew. it was hilarious. we stalked him for while (just kidding) and then got attacked by the street sellers... and sung the circle of life a bunch and wandered back to our hostel.
